Pai Skincare awarded Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Sensitive skincare brand Pai was granted a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise today for international trade.

To win in the international trade category, a business must show a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings over a three-year period to a level considered outstanding for the products and services concerned, and for the size of the organisation.

Pai Skincare, which was founded in 2007, has recorded major growth in its export markets since 2013, with a particular focus on Scandanavia, Canada and mainland Europe.

The company, posted a 237% growth in international trade in three years, and 12,823% growth in overall business in the five years to December 2015. Pai said that this year it will focus on growing its US presence and expanding further into Europe.

Founder Sarah Brown commented, “This is the big award to win and it's a hugely satisfying achievement when I think back to those early years of formulating products from my draughty garage in Ealing Broadway. We've come a long way since then."

Pai, which recently launched its first professional treatments, is in spas including The Herb House Spa at Limewood in Hampshire and The Scarlet in Cornwall. Pai employs 36 staff and exports to over 100 countries.

243 businesses were given Queen's Awards for Enterprises today on the Queen's birthday.
