PB Upskills (March 1–5): SS21 make-up trends and spray tan troubleshooting

Our PB Upskills programme for March 1–5 will cover some of the hottest topics of the season, including the four make-up looks set to take SS21 by storm and how you can recreate them in salon, as well as an in-depth session on the menopause and understanding the symptoms of the change. 

We’re also inviting James Harknett back for a second spray tanning troubleshooting session, where he will answer all your burning questions. Key topics in the webinar will include how to spray tan scars and stretch marks, ways to boost your tanning sales post-coronavirus lockdown and more.

Important note: PB Upskills is only taking place three days next week instead of five as our online international networking event PB World is happening on Sunday, February 28, to Tuesday, March 2.

Wednesday 3 March – Top Tips article – “Spring/summer 21 make-up trends”

In this PB Upskills Top Tips written article, professional make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis talks us through the key make-up looks clients will want this spring/summer 21 – scarlet lips, shorter and bolder winged liner, matte smoky eyes and glowy/dewy skin – and how these trends will translate from catwalk to Zoom call. Swot up on the techniques and how to deliver these key looks now.

Thursday 4 March – 12pm – Practical Skills Live with James Harknett – “Spray tanning troubleshooting: part two”

After his first successful PB Upskills session, we’ve asked celebrity tanner James Harknett, who is based at the W Hotel in London, to come back and share more of his spray tanning wisdom with us. In this spray tanning troubleshooting session, Harknett will reveal the spray gun techniques to use to get a flawless glow, how to calm nervous first-time clients, how to nail a spray tan on tricky areas like the hands and feet, and the best way to tan scars and stretch marks.

He will also explain how you can boost your tanning treatment and retail sales when you open post-lockdown, as well as sharing some of his funniest and most embarrassing memories from his time in the industry. There will be a 10-minute audience Q&A at the end where you can ask Harknett your questions.

Friday 5 March – 1pm – Facebook Premiere with Deborah Forsythe – “An introductory approach to menopause”

In this joint Professional Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine pre-recorded webinar, medical aesthetics practitioner and age management expert Deborah Forsythe identifies the common symptoms of the menopause transition and details the psychological implications of menopause. 

Forsythe will also cover the key factors involved in supporting women through their menopause phase and when is the best time to refer for pharmaceutical support for menopausal symptoms. Please note that this webinar is pre-recorded (not live).
