Traditionally havens of natural therapy, spas in the UK are slowly coming round to the benefits of machine-based treatments as a result of client demand.
The rise of technology in everyday life over the past ten years has been extraordinary. So it’s unsurprising that the beauty industry is also turning to machines in increasing numbers. Radiofrequency, LED, laser and IPL are just some of the systems that are now not only accepted, but expected, by clients.
However, while salons have taken on machines in their droves, the traditionally more “natural” spa world has been slower to come round. Marketing high-tech and sometimes noisy machine-based treatments to the spa-goer in search of tranquillity takes careful planning, but with consumers now firmly focused on measurable results, spas are choosing gentle, non-invasive machines and finding new ways to fuse technology with natural skincare to offer clients the best of both worlds.
