Prevention named biggest growth area for skincare

The face of the anti-ageing skincare market is set to change as younger women invest in preventing the signs of ageing, according to a new report.

New information from analyst Diagonal Reports estimates that the anti-ageing skincare market could grow by a massive 80%, thanks to the trend among younger consumers for skincre that prevents, rather than treats, the signs of ageing.

The report also said that the ageing population will further contribute to growth, as consumers are extending anti-ageing regimes for longer periods of time.

However, while the demand for anti-ageing skincare is growing, there is also an increasingly competitive number of products and treatments available, said Diagonal.

What’s more, consumers will continue to become better informed, meaning that products on the market will need to offer immediate, tangible, and sustainable results in order to succeed.
