Professional Beauty 2017 opens today at ExCel London
Professional Beauty London is back at ExCel with more than 800 brands showing off their latest product and treatment launches. As well as spying the best products to launch into the market, the show is also the perfect opportunity to gain business knowledge and see some inspiring seminars.
The top five things to see at the show today:
1. First look at industry innovations in the Launchpad area
Our Launchpad area on the show floor is a dedicated space where exhibitors will be presenting their upcoming product launches and innovations in 15-minute slots. Some of the key presentations to see today are: Hydrafacial’s new Perk treatment (11:20am), Image Skincare’s Yana collagen drink (12pm), Lynton’s Lumina System (1pm), Voya’s new Tranquil range (1:40pm) and Alfaparf’s Epildream One Diode Laser for hair removal.

2. Must-see demos for salon owners
The PB Live Stage will be a hive of activity with demonstrations on key techniques in waxing, nails, tanning, holistic treatments and more, and is free for visitors to attend. With demos taking place from 11:30am to 4pm, this stage is worth popping by if you want to find out about extending and improving your services.
Top slots to see are: mastering chrome nails with Rachel Thompson, Brillbird master educator (11:30am); advanced waxing techniques with Sarah Gibson, Lycon trainer (1:30pm); how to contour like a VIP with celebrity make-up artists Hayley Marie Sparks and Lyndsey Harison (2:30pm); and the latest innovation from Gelish with Georgie Smedley, Nail Harmony UK director.
There will also be informative demos taking place on our other three live stages – Advanced Therapists, Warpaint and Organic & Natural.

Industry leaders will be talking about the key issues and trends shaking up the market in our six specialised seminar programmes: Business Skills– with talks from consultant Valerie Delforge on marketing strategies (12pm) and a panel with Hellen Ward on how Brexit will influence your business (3pm); How to Workshops – with talks from Hayley Hobbs on building your spray-tanning business (1pm) and Jess Lambert on express lash treatments (2pm), Aesthetic Treatments with talks from Sally Durant on chemical skin peeling (1pm) and Karen Betts on microblading versus permanent make-up (4pm); Nail Skills – with talks on 2017 wedding nail art designs by tech Metta Francis (2pm) and nail rehab with Jennifer Young (3pm); Salon Skills – with talks from Beata Aleksandrowicz on preventing therapist burn-out (11am) and Stefania Rossi on creating employee career paths; and Nutrition – with talks from Lorraine Peretta on the inside-out approach to treating acne (1pm).

4. Nail-biting competitions
Day one of both the International Nail and Warpaint Make-up Championships will be taking place at the show. Standout nail techs are battling it out to be crowned the best in the business, hoping to be named International Manicurist of the Year, International Nail Master, Ultimate Nail Master and more.
Meanwhile, budding make-up artists are also creating some incredible body painting looks based on themes the French revolution, 20th Century fashion designers and spring wedding. Pop on by and be wowed by the pure skill and talent.
