Professional Beauty London 2022 reunites best in beauty

Professional Beauty London returned to ExCeL on April 3-4, bringing 15,709 professional trade visitors together with some of the biggest brands in the beauty industry. For the first time ever PB London ran as a hybrid event, as the show hosted on online day on Tuesday April 5, allowing visitors and exhibitors to virtually connect, and hosting even more education sessions with live Q&A opportunities with speakers.

Key exhibitors from all sectors of the beauty industry, including, skincare, aesthetic devices, nails, lashes, make-up, spa, and more were on hand to demonstrate their latest innovations and showcase their professional products.

Tamara Reid, head of brand at Timely, said, "Timely has travelled 24 hours to be at PB London, on a flight from both New Zealand and Australia. It's absolutely imperative for our brand to be here and be here in a big way. For us, it is better than Christmas – opening all of our leads, our trials and our activations is like opening a present every time, and, for us, the networking opportunities are second to none, it's outstanding."

Dale Needham, managing director, Aesthetic Technology, added “It’s good to see everyone back. It’s been beneficial on the brand awareness and education side for us. It’s important for us to ensure our potential customers are informed and have the knowledge they need before purchasing one of our devices, and PB London is the place for that. We’ll be here again.”

Fred Helou, founder and chief executive of Vagaro, commented “We’ve made a lot of good connections and met a lot of our existing customers too. Being able to talk and have a good candid conversation with potential customers is extremely beneficial to us.”

Make-up artists and nail techs went head-to-head in the PB London Make-Up Competition and  Nail Competitions, showcasing their skills and judged by some of the leading industry names.

Find out who won the Make-up Competition, organised in partnership with session tech Lan Nguyen-Grealis, here. And see the winners of the Nail Competition, in association with the Federation of Nail Professionals, here.

PB London also saw the return of top names delivering education sessions and seminars.  The stages allowed visitors to access world-class education in all aspects of the industry in one venue. From the Black Micropigmentation Association speaking on how to perform semi-permanent make-up treatments on skin of colour, to the stars of BBC Three’s make-up competition Glow Up sharing their experiences as an MUA pre- and post-show, all areas were covered across six stages: two Business Stages focusing on Management and Operations and Marketing and Social Media, the Nail and Make-Up Stage, Skin and Advanced Treatments, Organic and Natural and the Launch Pad Stage, which was new for 2022.

The show also hosted both the World Spa and Wellness and the International Manufacturers and Distributors Forum (IMF) and Cosmetics Ingredients & Packaging International (CIPI) conferences.

VIP visitors were invited to several champagne receptions for press and bloggers, lecturers, PB Awards entrants and many more, offering networking opportunities and a chance to talk with the Professional Beauty team.

In our Salon Owners Hub, business owners were able to drop in and talk to experts in digital marketing, finances, insurance, and website to gain advice and ask questions about how to improve their own business skills.

Speaking on the success of the show, Mark Moloney, managing director of the Professional Beauty Group, said “"It was good to see so many salon owners and therapists at Professional Beauty London enjoying the beautiful stands, with many visitors commenting on the strong stage education and professional atmosphere.

“Thank you to the 15,709 visitors who came, to see a great selection of skincare, equipment and aesthetic brands and now we are looking forward to next year, as we bring back more nails and tanning companies when the show returns to its usual dates of 5 & 6 March 2023."

Our new show Professional Beauty Business will run alongside Salon International on October 9–10 2022.

Professional Beauty London will be returning to ExCeL London on March 5-6. Register your interest here.
