Professional Beauty India declared a succes
The inaugural Professional Beauty India exhibition, held in Delhi from 2-4 December, attracted more than 4,000 visitors and has been hailed as the Indian beauty market’s leading trade exhibition.
90% of exhibitors were from the Indian market, emphasising the organiser’s focus on regional business. Attendance figures comprised local distributors, hotel and spa groups, plus beauty students.
The show is now set for significant expansion, with two 2013 events planned for India: Professional Beauty Mumbai from June 2-3, followed by a second Delhi show later in the year.
Professional Beauty managing director Mark Moloney said: “I’m pleased and a little relieved that we delivered. Having now proved ourselves to our Indian customers, the show will grow four-fold in 2013 as we pull in the locals that sat on the fence, and introduce national pavilions from Germany, Turkey, Korea, South Africa and the UK.
“The real proof is in the comments from our exhibitors whose warmth and excitement is incredible.”
One of the few direct overseas exhibitors at Professional Beauty India was BABTAC. Chairman Kim Ford said: “This is the first quality show that I’ve attended in India. Attendees have welcomed our British qualifications and we have gained many leads. We look forward to seeing the show develop as it has in the UK.”
Vaseem Kadher, Nubar India managing director, said: “Awesome show with excellent buyers and distributors coming from across the country.”
