[Updated] Over 13,000 sign petition for official safety guidelines from Government ahead of reopening
More than 13,000 industry professionals have now signed Professional Beauty Group's petition calling on the UK Government to provide clear safety reopening guidelines for salons. Can you help us reach 15,000?
The Professional Beauty Group, which includes Professional Beauty and Hairdressers Journal International, is asking the beauty and hair industry to sign a petition calling on the UK Government to provide clear safety guidelines so salons can reopen safely when the time is right, and they personally feel ready.
The UK Government has suggested beauty and hair salons may be able to safely reopen by Saturday, July 4 and a survey by Professional Beauty showed that 74% of beauty businesses feel ready to do so.
However, the hair and beauty industry has not received official government guidelines on the steps they will be required to take in order to do this safely.
Petition urging UK Government to provide safety guidance for beauty salons, spas, and mobile and home-based therapists.
Professional Beauty has been, and is continually being, asked what the guidelines are and when they will be available, which is why we are asking the UK Government in our petition to give this clarity to all whether they be salon-based, freelance or mobile hairdressers.
PB Group is here to serve the hair and beauty industry and wants to ensure all hair and beauty salons feel confident about reopening. Official UK Government guidance will mean salon owners and therapists can make an informed decision on when is the best time to reopen their businesses in a way that is safe for both staff and clients
“We want to be a positive voice for you during these difficult times and we hope our petition makes it 100% clear that we want the UK Government to offer official guidance to ensure you can make an informed decision on how you will be able to open your business safely,” said Mark Moloney, managing director of the Professional Beauty Group.
