Scrubs take centre stage at Chinese spa

Two treatment rooms at the new UR Spa at The PuXuan Hotel and Spa in Beijing are dedicated to scrub experiences designed as a prelude to treatments.
In order to prepare the mind and body to benefit for subsequent treatments, the spa journey first takes guests through warming and energising scrubs on heated marble beds.
The spa is split over two floors and nine additional treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, foot therapy lounge and gym.
Carbon fibre, light timber, aluminium and high-gloss black were chosen for the spa’s interior to create “a gently masculine touch”, with an illuminated glass staircase focal point.
Eco-friendly skincare brand Cha Ling L’Esprit du Thé is the spa’s main product house, containing detoxifying tea ferments concentrate. Comfort Zone treatment are also on offer.
The spa’s signature treatments combine the healing approach of traditional Chinese philosophy with sensorial French massage techniques. These experiences are adapted to the time of day to harmonise the body’s energy flow according to its biological rhythms.
