Shangri-La opens two new hotels in China

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened two new hotels in China, the Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu and the Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang, bringing its China property portfolio to 43.
 
The 211-room and suite Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu, which opened on August 1, has been designed in adherence with the teachings of Chinese philosopher Confucius and is based on the ancient master’s six arts: rites, music, archery, chariot racing, calligraphy and mathematics. 
 
The hotel houses a health club, complete with an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a whirlpool and an outdoor tennis court. A Chi, The Spa is also due to shortly open on the premises.
 
Other hotel amenities include a 1,600sq metre grand ballroom, a 680sq m ballroom and seven meeting rooms. Dining options at the hotel range from signature Chinese restaurant Shang Palace and all-day dining outlet Café Kong, to the lobby lounge. 
 
The Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang, which opened on August 15, features 424 rooms and suites, with the Shangri-La’s Horizon Club guestrooms located on the top five floors. Fitness and wellness amenities incorporate a 9-treament-room spa and a health club with gym, swimming pool, steam room and sauna, whirlpool and rooftop tennis court facilities.
 
Among the culinary options are Shinsen, which includes a sushi and sake bar and a rooftop terrace, Summer Palace, serving Cantonese and Liaoning cuisine, and Café Liao – which blends Asian and European cuisine. 
 
The Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang also offers 4,115sq m of meeting space over two floors, including a 1,900sq m grand ballroom, a 566sq m ballroom and seven function rooms.
