The 1,000sq m Clarins spas at the historic InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu opened in May. Professional Spa & Wellness talks to the team behind the new spa about what sets it apart

Located in the newly opened InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu, a historic 18th century building designed by renowned French baroque architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart and once the city’s main hospital, one of the most recent addition to the Clarins spa portfolio opened its doors in May this year.

Stretching across two floors and 1,000sq m and featuring six treatment rooms, two saunas, two steam rooms (with hammam facilities), experience showers, a pool and a fitness centre, the spa is a collaboration between Clarins and French spa creator and management company Deep Nature.

With more than 25 spas in a range of locations that include France, French Polynesia and soon Belgium, the company already manages Spa my Blend by Clarins at luxury Paris hotel Le Royal Monceau on behalf of the skincare brand.
