Six Senses appoints new leadership as expansion is announced

Six Senses Resorts & Spas has announced major expansion plans, under the helm of a new leadership. Five new properties in five different countries, Colombia, St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and China are all set to open within the next three years, as a new leadership takes over.

Industry veteran Neil Jacobs, formerly president of the Starwood Capital Group, takes over as chief executive while Wolf Hengst, a one-time president of the Four Seasons and a member of the Six Senses board of directors for the past four years, becomes executive chairman. Anna Bjurstam, owner and managing director of Sweden-based spa consultancy Raison d’Etre, takes on the role of vice president of spa and wellness. Bernhard Bohnenberger continues as president of the hotel and resorts group.

Commenting on the company’s upcoming expansion, Jacobs said that: “Six Senses is positioned for exciting growth into new markets, reaching new audiences and creating new experiences for our guests.” In addition to expanding its property portfolio, Six Senses will also be introducing a new branding and visual identity, launched alongside a new website in March. Established nearly 15 years ago, Six Senses now operates 29 Six Senses Spas, as well as eight Six Senses and three Evason properties around the world.
