Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon opens in the Seychelles

The spa at the Six Senses Zil Pasyon resort in the Seychelles has opened its door, following the opening of the resort last autumn.

The 1,765sq m Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon features five double treatment rooms villas, an open-air saltwater pool with a sundeck, a yoga and meditation pavilion, saunas and steam rooms, and a viewing deck designed to host wellness classes and offering views of the surrounding landscape.

The spa also includes a retail space and manicure and pedicure stations, among other features. It has been designed to blend in to the surrounding landscape, rich in rocks, boulders and jungle foliage, as much as possible.

The spa treatment villas are built in to the landscape, with the Rock Villa constructed between large-scale boulders; the Hanging Villa on a large rock; and the Ocean Villa over water, for example.

Natural materials have been used in the construction of the spa, with the treatment villas made of timber, rope bridges to get to the villas and fabric hangings to create relaxation areas. Other natural materials used in the construction of the spa include wood and rock.

Anna Bjurstam, vice president, Six Senses Spas said: “We looked at how nature could guide us in our design, and consequently we have treatment villas situated between rocks, on top of rocks and floating above the ocean.

“Even the yoga pavilion and wet area are not inside a building; they’re built on top of the rocks amongst lush foliage and the infinity-edge pool offers expansive sea views.”

Treatments at the spa, whose brand partners include natural and organic skincare brands The Organic Pharmacy and Terres d'Afrique, include five spa journeys.

Among these are the Rock Journey, designed to ease muscle aches and tension, and Ocean Journey; drawing on acupressure, aromatherapy and reflexology and incorporating hot and cold massage techniques.

There is also the Floating Journey, developed to have an uplifting and energising effect on body and mind, and a special spa journey for couples. The spa also offers the Six Senses range of yoga programmes, including Discover Yoga, Yogic Sleep and Yogic Detox.
