Six Senses to open Swiss resort with 2,000sq m spa

Six Senses hotels and resorts has announced plans to open its first resort in Switzerland in 2020.

The resort, Six Senses Crans-Montana, will feature 47 rooms and suites and will be located in the canton of Valais, two hours from Geneva by car and train.

Operated under a management agreement with Swiss finance company 1875 Finance, the resort, located in a region ideal popular for skiing, will also comprise 17 residential units.

The property will include a 2,000 sq m spa centred around alpine treatments and featuring a pool, relaxation area and fitness centre, among other amenities. 

The spa will also feature an area set aside for treatments for teens and children. Other resort amenities will include two restaurants.

In keeping with the Six Senses sustainably ethos, the resort build will incorporate recycled and local materials, with efficient lighting and energy and water conservation systems also built into its design.

Bernhard Bohnenberger, president of Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas, said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with 1875 Finance and are eager to expand our presence in Europe.

“This project will offer an amazing selection of outdoor activities including onsite ski-in and ski out access plus a rich wellness offering.”
