Speaker in the spotlight: Don Camilleri

Consultant at Hospitality and Leisure Concepts, Don Camilleri will be joining the Tea with an Architect panel as well as the Professional Spa & Wellness Convention’s excellent speaker line-up. We asked Don about his thoughts on the spa development  industry.

1 - How did your activity in the spa business begin?
During my 28 years as Development Director of Center Parcs UK I always felt the importance of innovating our Aqua Sana spa brand as it was a natural adult ingredient within our Forest Village Wellness brand.

2 - What pitfalls can you help people avoid by coming to Tea with an Architect?
I think an important issue to talk about and advise clients about is the perennial problem of asking for a project to be developed without a clear brief that sets out their objectives. This is closely followed by choosing the wrong advisors and specialist consultants.

3 - What do you expect from Tea with an Architect?
I look forward to and expect to meet developers with a desire to introduce or expand the spa opportunities within their business

4 - What do you think will be the key 2015 trends in the wellbeing business?
I believe that a serious wellness offer linked to a natural setting, for example within woodlands, and creating affordable and accessible social spas will be ones to watch!

5 - Which project would you consider your best achievements?
The last Aqua Sana Spa development  I did at Center Parcs Forest Village at Woburn is my latest and best achievement in spa design , development and innovation.
