Steiner Leisure loses presence on Celebrity Cruise liners
Steiner Leisure has lost its contract to run the spas on board Celebrity Cruises’ ships, after the existing contract came to an end on December 31.
The cruise company, which has 11 ships in its fleet, has not revealed why it decided to discontinue the contract with Steiner, however told Travel Weekly that the spa brand had been “an excellent partner over the years”.
Chief executive of Steiner Leisure Leonard Fluxman said, “We, of course, are disappointed with Celebrity’s decision, particularly in view of our revenues being at historical highs on Celebrity’s ships.
“It is our understanding that Celebrity’s decision was made purely from a marketing point of view. We hope that we will have the opportunity to serve more Celebrity ships at some point in the future,” he continued.
Steiner operates spas on more than 150 ships, including Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Cunard Cruises.
