Switzerland’s Royal Savoy Hotel opens large-scale spa

A new spa, the 1,500sq m Spa du Royal, has opened at the Royal Savoy Hotel and Spa in Switzerland.

The spa at the five-star Lausanne hotel features eight treatment rooms, including a private spa suite, and a thermal area with an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, hot and cold plunge pools, experience showers and ice fountains.

Other features in the thermal area include a hammam, sauna, steam room and relaxation area. The spa also comprises a separate women-only thermal space in the ladies’ changing room, with a bio sauna, steam room, plunge pool and relaxation space.

Other spa and wellness facilities include the gym, open 24/7, a hair studio and a spa boutique. The private spa suite incorporates its own sauna, steam room, whirlpool, experience shower and couples’ treatment area.

Spa du Royal works with British skincare brand Aromatherapy Associates, French brand Biologique Recherche and Swiss brand La Vallée. The treatment menu features a combination of facials, massages, body treatments, grooming services, and more.

The spa also offers a series of holistic options, including reiki, sound therapy, craniosacral therapy, osteopathy and rolfing – involving manipulation of fascia tissue and designed to improve mobility and flexibility.

The Royal Savoy Hotel is part of the Bürgenstock Selection of luxury properties, which also comprises the Schweizerhof Hotel & Spa in Bern and the Bürgenstock Resort by Lake Lucerne – opening later this summer.
