The Spa at Bedford Lodge certified by Wellness for Cancer
The Spa at the Bedford Lodge Hotel in the UK has been certified cancer aware by Wellness for Cancer.
Wellness for Cancer provides training for spas and wellness centres that want to work with clients with or in remission from cancer.
The training, which covers elements including massage, skincare and manicure, is designed to give therapists the confidence to safely deliver spa treatments for cancer patients. The Wellness for Cancer training curriculum was developed by the organisation’s founder Julie Bach.
Following the team’s Wellness for Cancer training, the Spa at Bedford Lodge is now in a position to adapt its treatments to be suitable for clients with cancer.
Spa manager Leanna Kew said: “Our clients want to be able to escape cancer, they don’t want to go to a spa and be reminded of their journey, and this is what Wellness for Cancer has taught us.
“We’re now able to offer a select treatment menu to cancer sufferers with the right training, attitude and approach. Wellness for Cancer has enabled us to ensure that all our treatments are safe and relaxing for our clients.”
The 10-treatment room Spa at Bedford Lodge features a hydrotherapy pool, hammam, rasul mud chamber and an ice foundation, as well as experience showers, a rooftop hot tub, a manicure/pedicure area and a treatment room for visiting aesthetic practitioners, among other faciliites.
