Thermal Spa Village opens at Galgorm Resort & Spa
Galgorm Resort & Spa near Ballymena in Northern Ireland has unveiled its new £11 million, 75,000 sqft Thermal Spa Village. Situated on the banks of the River Maine, the concept of the thermal village is for guests to enjoy the serenity of the natural landscape while relaxing in the log fired riverside hot tubs and outdoor heated pools, with more new experiences inside. Use of the new facilities is complimentary to all guests staying at the hotel or on the Galgorm estate.
Open since 1998, the resort is now seeking to offer a “world class” spa experience with the Thermal Spa Village, which houses the Snow Cabin, a -15C room filled with snow and ice, developed by German spa manufacturer Klafs and designed to cool the body between sauna visits.
Other facilities include the Celtic sauna, where Celtic Meditation Sauna Rituals are held three times a day, and a scented, reduced heat samarium. Outside, a walk along a stilted boardwalk leads to the River House on the edge of the river, where yoga and pilates classes are on offer.
Existing thermal spa facilities at Galgorm include an infinity hydrotherapy pool, laconium, herb caldarium, aroma grotto and ice fountain. Signature spa treatments from product houses Voya and Aromatherapy Associates include the Voya Rediscovery Facial, Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength scalp and body treatment and Taste of Galgorm, an exclusive Voya ritual combining five treatments.
