Two-day spa conference to debute at Professional Beauty North

Employee engagement, industry trends, retailing and spa marketing are some of the topics on the agenda at the inaugural Professional Spa & Wellness North next month.

Forming part of the Professional Beauty North trade show, the two-day spa conference will see some of the leading figures in the industry gather at the Manchester Central exhibition venue on October 19-20, to network and discuss key industry issues.

Day one will see Marion Hayden, manager of Oceo Spa at the Seafield Golf & Spa Hotel in Ireland, speak on the topic of How to Promote Value without Cheapening your Brand. Angie Petkovic, managing director of Apt Marketing & PR will present on the subject of Marketing Successfully, exploring both social media marketing and traditional marketing tools.

The event will also include two panel discussions. On Sunday the 19th, Liz Holmes, spa director at Rockliffe Hall, Catherine Ferma, spa and salon director at PZ Cussons Beauty, John Bevan, managing director of Spafinder Wellness, and Jeremy Smith, director of spa consultancy Blue Spa & Leisure, will debate how spas can adapt to the most recent trends in the field.

On Monday the 20th, Lorna Macleod, spa manager at Ribby Hall Village, Colin Farndon, spa director at Armathwaite Hall Country House Hotel and Spa and Gill Morris, director of GMT Business Training, will discuss the challenging but important issue of spa retailing. Day two will also see spa consultant and trainer Pete Scott outline how to help your staff fulfill their potential.
