Two new properties for Ritz-Carlton
The Ritz-Carlton has added as sixth hotel to its Mexico and Caribbean property portfolio, with the opening of the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. The hotel, which contains 320 guest rooms and suites, comprises a Ritz-Carlton Spa, a fitness centre, four restaurants and extensive meeting and events facilities.

The 1,394sq m spa, encompassing 13 treatment rooms, a beauty salon and a boutique, is the largest spa facility on the Caribbean island. Drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings, the spa menu includes signature treatments designed around sky, water, earth and fire – with local ingredients such as coconut, cactus and aloe used in treatments.

The property’s meeting and events facilities include a 697sq m ballroom and the resort is also host to a 1,394sq m casino. Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton, said the hotel conglomerate was: "thrilled to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to Aruba".

This month also sees the announcement of the Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing, set to open in the central business district of the eastern Chinese city in the first quarter of 2015. Featuring 329 rooms and suites, the hotel will comprise an Espa spa, a fitness centre and an indoor pool.

Other amenities will include four restaurants, a ballroom and seven function rooms. Victor Clavell, vice president for Asia Pacific at The Ritz-Carton, said: “Nanjing represents a strategic growth opportunity for The Ritz-Carlton as we double our growth in China.”
