Urban Retreat opening new London flagship at The White House in June

Urban Retreat is opening its first standalone London salon in Knightsbridge next month, promising to “challenge the beauty hospitality space”.

Located on Hans Crescent, the 12,000sq ft five-storey Urban Retreat at The White House will feature a diverse range of beauty and hair services covering health, nutrition and wellbeing.

It’s a bold move for Urban Retreat, which used to be based in London’s luxury department store Harrods until its fifteen-year partnership was ended last year

The basement is the “detox haven” where guests can book in to see leading nutritionists and wellbeing consultants for everything from cleansing and intolerance testing, to tailored weight management programmes.

Slimming treatments and colonic hydrotherapy will also be on offer, and clients will have access to other facilities including infrared saunas, relaxation rooms, and a studio for meditation and soundproof yoga.

The ground floor will feature a large retail space, consultation table area and in-house restaurant Flavour by Urban Retreat, while the first floor will house hair stylist Frédéric Fekkai’s salon and a nail space in partnership with CND.

The second and third floors will home the traditional beauty and medi-spa services, with brands performing exclusive treatments for a limited time, and there will also be a creative studio which will host guest residences for acclaimed tattoo and piercing artists.

Managing director Reena Hammer said: “We want to revolutionise and own the beauty hospitality space with our expert staff, authoritative approach to service, best-in-class professional and retail products, alongside an elevated customer experience. The grand nature of The White House is perfect for Urban Retreat to realise its vision – where beauty meets hospitality.”

She added: “In a landscape where traditional retail layouts and store design are being challenged by the expectations of the evolving consumer, our brand new concept will focus on an experience-led approach.”

Urban Retreat at The White House is currently recruiting beauty therapists, brow and lash techs, laser techs and make-up artists.
