Using skincare to treat signs of dark circles
Dark circles (which can also be blue, purple and brown) are a common skin concern for many clients.
Dark circles can have different causes. Blue/purple dark circles, called vascular dark circles, are often caused by poor microcirculation of the blood, tiredness, lack of sleep, or are sign of ageing.
Brown/black dark circles are called pigmented dark circles, and are the result of an overproduction of melanin which is responsible for their colour.
The skin around the eyes (periorbital area) is the most prone to damage because it experiences constant movement throughout the day, and it’s also the thinnest area of skin so it shows discolouration at an accelerated rate.
Caudalie’s new-to-market Vinoperfect Brightening Eye Cream targets signs of dark circles due to its action-packed formula and innovative massage tool.
So, how does it work?
Let’s start with lack of microcirculation; this is caused by build-up of fluid often triggered by lack of sleep and excess water retention.
This new eye cream is packed with caffeine which helps drain excess fluid away by re-energising cells and helps to enliven the eye area.
For enhanced results, Caudalie has designed an innovative ceramic tip applicator to massage around the eye area.
The tip is ultra-cooling prompting blood vessels to contract and de-puff, further enhancing its results.
The cold tip was inspired by cryotherapy which can help prompt the body to rejuvenate and regenerate skin cells quickly.
Next is the inclusion of patented Viniferine. This powerful ingredient has been extracted from grape vine sap which was discovered to have colour correcting properties.
Viniferine has since has been clinically proven to be 62 times more effective than vitamin C in an in-vitro test of the inhibitory action of Viniferine on tyrosinase.
This inhibitory action helps skin to control melanin production, therefore reducing discolouration.
The third active ingredient is niacinamide, which helps to brighten and resurface for a final radiant finish.
Tried and tested, the cream has been proven to reduce dark circles by 86% in a clinical test* and should be used in conjunction with Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Serum for total skin radiance.
