World Spa & Wellness Convention 2018 programme announced
The programme for the World Spa & Wellness Convention 2018, held on February 25-26, has been revealed.
Topics covered at the two-day convention will include the use of technology in spas, affordable wellness, creating a spa community and fitness in spas – among others.
The World Spa & Wellness Convention takes place as part of leading trade show Professional Beauty, held at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London. The trade show draws around 34,000 spa, beauty and wellness professionals every year.
The convention annually attracts between 300 and 400 top-level spa and wellness professionals from around the world as chairs, speakers and delegates.
The event addresses a breadth of key issues currently facing the global spa and wellness sector, in keynote sessions, panel debates and interactive sessions.
Sessions on the 2018 programme include the “Tech disruptors: threats and collaboration opportunities in the digital market: approachable, affordable options for your clients and your team” panel on Sunday, February 25.
Speakers on this panel include Jack Tang, chief executive of Urban Massage, and Frank Pitsikalis, chief executive and founder of Resort Suite.
The “Make wellness the key to repeat business”, also on day one, will take the shape of a Q&A between Andrew Gibson, vice-president, wellbeing, luxury brands at Accor Hotels, and Neil Jacobs, chief executive of Six Senses hotels and resorts.
The "Build a spa community: making memberships, collaborations and social groups work for you” session will feature a panel of three, including Niamh O'Connell, group vice president, guest experience and wellness for Rosewood hotels.
Also on the spa community panel are Corinna Yap, director of sales at Como Shambhala and Mia Kyricos, president of Kyricos & Associates and chair of the Global Wellness Institute’s Wellness Communities initiative.
In addition to the Q&A between Andrew Gibson and Neil Jacobs, keynotes include the address by Marc Ellin, Hyatt senior vice president, operations, Americas for the Miraval group on Monday, February 26.
Day two will also see a keynote by professional speaker Tanya Chernova on the topic of customer service excellence.
