A new set of aspiring make-up artists are ready to put their skills to the test as they compete in the sixth series of BBC Three’s hit show Glow Up.
The eight new contestants will go head-to-head to be crowned Britain’s Next Make-Up Star.
Hosted by TV presenter and model Leomie Anderson, the show will see the contestants take part in a variety of professional assignments, ranging from from pop star-led social campaigns to global gaming body painting, West End theatre looks to gory TV special effects, all overseen by resident judges and renowned MUAs Val Garland and Dominic Skinner.
This year, guest judges throughout the competition will include , Haus Labs global artistry director and Lady Gaga’s MUA, Sarah Tanno, Mitchell Halliday, creative director of Made By Mitchell, Isamaya Ffrench, international MUA and owner of Isamaya Beauty, and Aimie Aitkinson, actor, singer and original cast member of Six The Musical.
Meet the MUAs
Connor (he/him)
Connor is a 27-year-old beauty manager and dance teacher from Kent. After Connor finished his dance training, he then realised that a career in dance was not him when his love for make-up began, and he began to pursue this as a career instead.
Ella (she/her)
Ella is a 20-year-old Prosthetics & SFX Design Student from Leicester. When she studied art and design at college, she felt like she found her people and felt comfortable in being creative and wearing make-up.
Finley (he/him)
Finley is a 20-year-old philosophy & drama student from Dorset. Although Finley’s love for make-up began in his teens, he has been creative and artsy his whole life.
George (he/him)
George is a 27-year-old retail MUA from Birmingham. In just three years, George has been promoted from an amateur make-up artist in his hometown to now working as an assistant manager at Morphe
Jess (she/her)
Jess is a 24-year-old social media assistant from London. Her motivation to want to be a make-up artist was down to her drive to create and collaborate in the artistic sense.
Reem (she/her)
Reem is a 22-year-old MUA and aesthetician from Birmingham. She was fascinated about studying Medical Biochemistry which she graduated this year but make-up is now her dream career.
Rossi (he/him)
Rossi is 21-year-old make-up and hair student from Surrey. He loves doing make-up and is professionally trained, doing make-up professionally for six years. He loves the feeling that it can transforms someone’s day.
Shania (she/her)
Shania is a 24-year-old prosthetics and SFX for film and TV student from Coventry. She has built a community of over 100k followers on TikTok and it is her goal to help people when it comes to make-up and make it more accessible.
Series six will take make-up challenges to a new level with professional assignments desigend to provide the MUAs with incredible opportunities to work with Lady Gaga’s make-up brand Haus Labs, work on the set of the long standing BBC drama Casualty, create looks within the world of Roblox, work with footwear giant Foot Locker, assist on the set of London West End’s Six The Musical and present to industry professionals at Harvey Nichols.
