Multimillion-pound wellness destination The Harrogate Spa opening in November
A new destination spa focused on wellbeing is opening at Harrogate-based the Doubletree by Hilton Majestic Hotel in November, as part of a £15 million-pound renovation to the property.
Drawing on the North Yorkshire town’s rich spa heritage – drinking or bathing in the mineral waters of Harrogate was in the 19th Century part of a daily routine prescribed by doctors – The Harrogate Spa promises to be a wellness haven, offering results-driven face and body treatments as well as holistic and mindfulness services.
It will feature six treatment rooms (two of which are couple’s suites), a 12.5m indoor pool and a range of thermal experiences, including a Himalayan salt sauna, rasul, steam room, experience shower and ice fountain.
There will also be a relaxation lounge leading out to a Zen and Courtyard spa garden, where guests can enjoy the property’s beautiful surroundings, alongside a Spa Café and Terrace, 24-hour gym and studio.
“We’ve worked carefully to incorporate the rich heritage of our spa town location, combining this with the latest in beauty and wellbeing and a world-class service from our team. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming the first guests to our beautiful new spa later this year,” said spa director Lynn Roach.
Majestic Hotel’s general manager, Matthew Hole, added: “The development of [the spa] is an important part of our overall redevelopment at The Majestic as we take the hotel back to its Victorian heyday. The Harrogate Spa [will be] a leading destination spa, attracting visitors from far and wide.”
The spa has chosen Carita, Espa, Jessica and Thalgo as its leading product houses.
