Captiva Spa and Beau Beauty Salon named best in Wales

Beau Beauty Salon in Pontypool and Caerphilly’s Captiva Spa (pictured) were among the winners at this year’s Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards, which took place in Cardiff on Sunday.

The Awards event, which was held on June 28 at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, welcomed over 400 leading Welsh hair and beauty professionals for a black tie dinner to celebrate the talent and skills of the beauty and hair industries in Wales.

The event was hosted by Capital FM’s breakfast presenter Polly James.

Many awards were up for grabs, including Beautician of the Year, which went to Adele Sweet from Madam Wax in Cardiff, and Makeup Specialist of the Year, which went to Andrea Doran of Brideology in Swansea.

Complexions Medispa and Laser Clinic in Newport picked up the title of Cosmetic Clinic of the Year, and Masseuse of the Year went to self-employed massage therapist Denise Owen, based in Bridgend. Zoe Allen, based in Haverfordwest, was crowned Nail Technician of the Year, and Crystal Beauty in Pontypridd was named Tanning Salon of the Year.

Irfan Younis, Founder and chief executive of event organiser Creative Oceanic, said, “This year we have been blown away by the response from the Welsh public and our finalists, resulting in nearly twice as many attendees as last year, heating up the competition! Well done to all the winners and finalists and we thank everyone who participated in making this another successful Creative Oceanic event.”

The Awards also raised over £1,600 for its chosen charity, which this year is the Make A Wish Foundation, a charity that grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

Beau Beauty Salon in Pontypool fought off stiff competition from other regional winners to grab the title of Beauty Salon of the Year in Wales.

Beauty Salon of the Year North Wales winner is The Body Therapy Clinic (Shotton).

Beauty Salon of the Year Mid Wales winner is Jo Jo Beauty Studio (Brecon).

Beauty Salon of the Year South East Wales winner is Beau Beauty room (Pontypool).

Beauty Salon of the Year South West Wales winner is Be..Nails and Beauty (Swansea).
