Champneys appoints operations director

Champneys has appointed Alan Whiteley, as the group’s operations director to develop its national and global presence.

This is a new role at the luxury spa chain, and Whiteley brings with him experience from a number of hotel brands, including De Vere hotels, Radisson, Thistle Hotels and IHG.

Whiteley said, “This is an exciting opportunity to apply the functionality of my hotel background to the market leader in the spa industry. My remit includes developing our brand globally, enhancing our wellbeing offering and increasing our corporate events and conference portfolio.”

Whiteley added that he is keen to maximise awareness and sales of the Champney’s products, both within the brand’s own sites and through distribution to other venues.

Stephen Purdew, director of Champneys, said, “We have been making changes to the infrastructure of our health spas with a robust refurbishment programme, and bringing in new management teams to deliver the level of customer service which the brand demands.”
