Meet our Warpaint Makeup Competition Floor Judges

The Professional Beauty Show Competitions are getting a makeover, and both the professional and student make-up competitions will fall under the Warpaint brand from 2013.

At London’s ExCeL Centre on the 24-25 February 2013, the Warpaint Makeup Competition will kick off with a bang to showcase brilliant makeup in categories including Illusion Dynamix, Runway Explosion, Exposure Revelation and Muse Inspiration.

We have an incredible team of judges ready to select the best in each category. Since we are seeing the best in make-up, we thought it best to bring you the best in head judges and floor judges.

Gary Cockerill – Warpaint Competition Director
Primarily known for his work with celebrities and models as well as his numerous TV appearances, Gary’s 20 year career to date has seen him working with some of the world’s most influential editors, photographers (Rankin, Demarchelier, Bailey, Clive Arrowsmith amongst many) as well as the best directors stage and screen has to offer.

Head Judges

Paul Merchant – Head of Charles Fox Makeup Team, Kryolan London.
Paul has worked for Makeup giants Kryolan since 2006, exploring every genre of makeup and learning from some of the best artists in the industry from theatre to fashion, beauty to body painting. Being subjected to such a wide variety of make-up disciplines has helped him become extremely versatile in his work.??Karen Betts - Permanent Cosmetics Makeup Technician and MD of Nouveau Beauty Group
Karen pioneered creative cosmetic tattooing in the UK and is one of the most experienced permanent makeup practitioners in the country. She regularly consults for hospitals, TV programmes and has treated numerous celebrities and prestigious clients worldwide.

Alan Strutt – Specialist in celebrity portrait photography
With 30 years of industry experience, Alan has cemented his status as one of the leading photographers in the UK.Throughout his career he has worked with stars from Kate Moss to Madonna, shot for a wealth of prestigious brands and magazines worldwide and has appeared on countless TV shows.

Marcella Martinelli – Celebrity and Catwalk Stylist
With over ten years experience in the industry Marcella has worked with a broad range of clients, photographers, publications, fashion shows & celebrities and has a vast range of experience and knowledge about how to make people look their best.

Floor Judges

Emma Farell – International Make up Artist
Emma has worked in Ireland, the UK and Australia and is highly sought after. In the short five years that she has been working as a freelance make-up artist, Emma has carved one of the most successful careers in the Film, Television and Media Industries.

Abbi-Rose Crook – Creative Make up Artist
Abbi-Rose is an accomplished and creative make-up artist in all aspects of Fashion, Celebrity, Beauty, Editorial and TV Make-up. She won Professional Beauty Magazine ‘Make-up Specialist of the Year’ Award in 2012, and then repeated this winning streak at the Olympia ‘Art of Make-up’ Competition a few months later.

Sinead Buckley – Beauty Expert and Make up Artist
Sinead is a makeup artist who regularly works alongside a host of talent and her mantra is those that think and act beautiful will be beautiful to everyone around them. She has helped thousands of women to feel fabulous and now regularly writes her blog BeautyByBlondie.

Chloe Gamblin and Kelly Hicks – Pro Make up Artists for Sparkle Box Studios
With degrees in media makeup, Chloe and Kelly both have over 7 years of experience working in the industry spanning from fashion and special occasion work to TV/film. They both have experience with well known productions and celebrity clients - McFly, BBC Casualty, Deal or No Deal and various ITV shows to name a few.
