Do you want to put your skills to the test? Then take part in the prestigious Make-up Competition at Professional Beauty London on March 5-6 at ExCeL London.

This year’s Make-up Competition welcomes all skill levels, from students and industry novices, to MUAs who have been working in the field for years. Renowned session make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis is hosting the competition and has created categories that will allow you to showcase your creativity, skills and precision.

Categories this year cover key make-up skills including Bodypaint, Bridal, Film and Editorial. There will also be a Creative Influencer category to recognise professionalism among social media make-up influencers. These categories have been designed to reflect the ever-changing industry skills needed for today’s MUA. Check out about the categories here.

 

This year we have two categories that are off the floor: Image Award, with the theme of ‘Life in Colour’ and ‘Creative Influence’ with the theme of ‘AI Future’. Entrants will submit their entry pre-show and shortlisted images will be displayed in a gallery at the competition area of PB London to be judged on the day. To find out more check out the rules.

 

A team of seasoned industry judges will review your work – a fantastic opportunity for feedback and critique from the sector’s best MUAs. This is your chance to meet and learn from the best in the business. The 2023 judging team includes: Armand Beasley, Jo Sugar, Jennifer Jane, Joy Adenuga, Phyllis Cohen, Kamanza, Tanya Noor, Louise Young, James Mac, and Yasmine Heinz.

Learn from the experts

Across the two days, the Trends & Techniques Stage will hosting amazing sessions that are just for you providing opportunity for you to expand your make-up knowledge and get the best tips from the best in the industry. On Sunday the 5th at 2pm, Joy Adenuga, celebrity makeup artist and skincare expert, will be demonstrating 2023 makeup trends. Additionally, on Monday 6th at 12pm, celebrity makeup artist Nathalie Eleni will be doing a masterclass on how to create glowing skin and a red-carpet look.
