Rockliffe Hall’s Liz Holmes among new board members for SpaUK
The UK Spa Association (SpaUK) has announced its new board members for 2014 following its annual general meeting held last month. Liz Holmes, spa director at Rockliffe Hall in County Durham, and John Holman, director at Hydrotherm Therapy System, have been appointed vice chairs of the association, replacing Berni Hawkins and Lesley Bacon of Handpicked Hotels.
There were 12 board members appointed in total during the meeting, including Spa Life’s Mike Fitch as company secretary, Robert Czik of Finders International as treasurer, and Christine Hartigan of AFLSP architects to oversee communication.
Veronica Butler, director of specialist beauty consultants Hairandbeautyjobs.co.uk will oversee National Spa Awareness Week, Good Spa Guide’s Daphne Metland will be responsible for member benefits and Suki Kalirai of Habia and the Carlton Institute will oversee online learning.
Gerrard McCarthy of Dalesauna and consultant Kim Ford will hold general positions on the board.
Charlie Thompson will remain as chair and Champney’s Alex de Carvalho as vice chair of the association, which was formed last year following a merger of the Spa Business Association and the British International Spa Association.
