Saks Skin Challenge backs skincare “bootcamp” trend

Salon chain Saks is launching a 21-day skincare programme for customers combining products and treatments, called the Saks Skin Challenge.

The programme has been devised by Saks’ skin experts over the last year, and is now available at all Saks beauty salons. Kirsty Jewson, head of beauty at Saks, explained that the service was a natural progression for Saks, which already offers its Advanced Beauty treatments for a more prescriptive approach to skincare.

“Customers plagued by problematic or oily skin, prone to redness and sensitivity or wanting to treat uneven skin tone will benefit from taking our Challenge,” said Jewson. “And of course it’s great for those simply wanting to fight the signs of ageing too.”

The programme begins with a consultation with a Saks skin expert followed by the first of three facials designed to combat the relevant problems, using products from Elemis and Cosmedix.

There are two more facials to follow, and clients are given the Saks Skin Challenge Kit, which contains products rich in active ingredients designed to enhance the effects of the treatments between visits. There are also simple lifestyle tips and the Saks therapist stays in touch with the client to make sure they stay on track with the programme.
