Starwood Hotels & Resorts is set to add a new hotel on the island of Mauritius to its property portfolio, with the opening of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa in the spring of 2014.

Comprising 190 rooms, including 38 suites, the property will also include The Westin’s in-house spa brand, The Heavenly Spa by Westin. Among other wellness and leisure amenities will be the hotel’s two swimming pools, the Westin Workout fitness center and sauna, steam room and whirlpool facilities.

Continuing to roll out the superfood concept already available at many Westin properties, the operator will also offer a SuperFoods menu centered on ingredients rich in nutrients and antioxidants at the Mauritius property.

The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa will also offer five dinning venues and 340sq m of meeting and events space.

Michael Wale, president, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East, said: “We believe our Westin brand is the ideal fit for this destination, thanks to its signature programmes and amenities designed to help guests recharge and revitalise so they return home feeling better than when they arrived.”
