A third of Brits plan spa break in 2013

A third of Brits (33%) plan to visit a spa this year, as the Corinthia Hotel London is revealed as the most popular hotel spa in Europe.

Hotel review website TripAdvisor, which surveyed 1,547 Brits, also found that 23% of respondents are plotting a rejuvenating trip for early this year.

TripAdvisor reviewers voted the Corinthia Hotel London as the best hotel spa in Europe. Seafield Golf & Spa Hotel in Gorey, Ireland, was named as the second most popular spa, followed by Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, Switzerland.

Spa hotels in the Northeast of England also triumphed in the results, with two spas featuring in the top ten. Durham-based spa Rockliffe Hall and Headlam Hall Hotel Spa & Golf came fourth and tenth respectively.

Muckross Park Hotel & Cloisters Spa in Killarney, Ireland, which features an outdoor hot tub, a salt grotto, iced fountain and herbal sauna was also in the top ten.
