Awareness and innovation drive organic beauty

The global organic beauty market is set for growth in the coming years, with analysts predicting it to hit almost $16billion by 2020. Innovation in herbal ingredients and increased consumer awareness about the potential benefits of organic products are expected to drive the growth, according to market analysts at Grand View Research.

Skincare accounts for the largest segment of the organic beauty market, responsible for $2.73bn, or 32% of global revenue, in 2013. That market is predicted to grow at a rate of around 10% per year up to 2020.

Closer to home, the organic sector is preparing for its annual Organic Beauty Week next month, an campaign organised by the Soil Association to raise awareness about organic beauty products. Coinciding with Organic Beauty Week, which runs from September 8 to 14, skincare brand Pinks Boutique will be running its second annual Organic Beauty Festival.

The brand’s founder Kirstie Sherriff said, “The week-long festival aims to shine a spotlight on organic beauty and its benefits, whilst increasing treatment bookings and product sales.”
