Creating the perfect look for eyes
Discover how Nicola Wakeling, Product Development Manager at Mii Cosmetics, uses colour to make clients' eyes really pop.
“To really showcase an eye, I use a colour that is as far from the eye’s colour as possible. This has the effect of sharpening and deepening the colours that you perceive. You could put grey shadows on a blue eye, but if you use a warm bronze gold, the eye will appear a more intense shade of blue. For blue eyes, I use shades of colour that are close to orange – coppers, warm golds and golden coral colours. For green eyes I concentrate on purples – any shade works, but the closer to lilac, the stronger the “pop”. For brown eyes, look for shades such as navy blue or grey. Many people have blue/green eyes or brown/green eyes. By using a bronze shade on blue/green eyes, you can make them appear more blue than green. It's a great trick and applies to all colours”.
Nicola Wakeling pursued her love for make-up by training in beauty therapy at the prestigious Champneys College.
