Essex salon The Shed to open second site in former railway station

A former railway station in Tendring, Essex will be given a new lease of life as a beauty salon called The Station.

Salon owners Glynne Gerrard and Jess Wilson, who currently run The Shed in nearby Lawford, bought disused Grade II listed Mistley station with plans to open a second location to accommodate client demand.

The Station will house a hair floor and two beauty treatment rooms upstairs, as well as space for training.

The couple told the Harwich and Manningtree Standard that they plan to replace the doors and windows in the building’s arches and make some other small alterations to reinvigorate the site.

Gerrard also said the salon’s interior will be kept in keeping with the character of the building. The Station is tipped to open in time for Christmas this year.

The Shed offers nail, waxing, lash and body treatments and uses product houses including Jessica and Sienna X.
