Ex Canyon Ranch director launches Blue World Voyages to offer wellness cruises

Ex Canyon Ranch director Diane Trieste is gearing up to launch wellness cruises in 2019 via new company Blue World Voyages.

Blue World Voyages is billed as “a  whole new kind of cruise line. Dedicated to sports, fitness and wellness”. Trieste has joined the group as vice president of wellness.

The company was co-founded by former Starbucks president John Richards and fitness entrepreneur Gene Meehan and will offer its first cruises in spring 2019 onboard a 350-capacity ship.

“42 million people in the US alone are considered ‘conscious consumers.’ They take care of themselves, eat well, stay active, and are in search of new experiences. Now, finally, they have their very own cruise line,” said Meehan.

Blue voyage will offer a large luxury spa onboard, which it claims will be the “largest, per passenger, afloat”.

There will also be extensive gym facilities; a sports medicine clinic; yoga, spinning, TRX studios; and a sea-water lap pool surrounded by cabanas; and 350 eco-friendly suites.

Blue World will offer guests personal tuition in a range of activities from scuba diving to mountain biking, hiking or golf.

Trieste added, ““Our activities are designed to enable people already energized and healthy to have the time of their lives. But also to welcome people who want to be energized, healthy and have the time of their lives.”

There will also be a Blue World app that help guests find healthy cuisine onshore and help with local knowledge.

Prices will start from $3,500 for a week's cruise in a standard suite.
