Exploring how ingredients engage with the skin at Professional Beauty North
Lorna Bowes, founding partner of Aesthetic Source, which distributes professional skincare brands Exuviance and Neostrata, will be discussing the hottest science-led options to treat skin conditions such as photo damage and pigmentation in your salon at PB North this weekend (Oct 22–23). Bowes explains why you shouldn’t miss her two sessions.
I will be talking on the Skin is Alive Live Stage this weekend (Oct 22–23) at Professional Beauty North to discuss the latest issues affecting the skin, as well as offering advice on how to prevent and treat them.
Firstly, I’ll be talking about anti-ageing, focusing on biorevitalisation and hydrobalance, as well as discussing hyaluronic acid and other active ingredients, including the most efficient methods employed to get the ingredients to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin to achieve the best results.
There will also be room to address the common questions such as “How do ingredients penetrate the skin” and “Which ingredients are truly benefiting our skin”.

In another session – Direct dermal nutrition? Active ingredients that benefit the skin –I’ll explore aspects of direct dermal nutrition, focusing on which active ingredients benefit the skin.
This will include exploring the best methods to deliver these ingredients, asking the question: should they be put on the skin or into the skin?
I will also look at skin issues such as photo damage, pigmentation, oily and acne prone skins, and various other skin complaints that you see on daily in salon.
