Eye time
The eye area is often one of the first to go when it comes to skin ageing, and being such a delicate area, it needs special attention. It's hardly surprising that specialist eye creams and serums are as popular as they are, and follwoing a spate of launches this season, Professional Beauty checks out the new arrivals on the market.
Aromatherapy Associates
Spa brand Aromatherapy Associates recently released the Rose Infinity Collection - a new line of age-defying products which promise results in only three weeks. The collection includes the Rose Infinity Eye Cream. The cream contains hydroxyproline, an amino acid that supports the production of hyaluronic acid and gives an anti-wrinkle, firming effect. In true Aromatherapy Associates style, the cream is rich in natural oils to provide extra benefits. Rose, frankincense, chamomile and sandal wood oils work to protect and soothe the eye area.
Dermalogica
To treat such a delicate area, Dermalogica's launch targets clients with sensitive skin. Designed for easily-irritated eye areas, the UltraSmoothing Eye Cream tackles fine lines and wrinkles while also soothing, protecting and hydrating the skin. The ingredients give results at a neutral PH level, which avoids the stinging and redness that can sometimes be felt in this area of the face. The cream also uses Dermalogica’s UltraCalming Complex, which aims to reduce and prevent inflammation and irritation.
Eminence
For clients looking for an organic option, Eminence's latest collection has an offering the helps the eyes. As part of its Age Corrective Night Collection, the skincare brand has launched a new Lavender Age Corrective Night Eye Cream, which it says gives results in less than months. Lavender, argan and calendula oils give antioxidant protection, while evening primrose oil hydrates the area. The eye cream uses Eminence’s Anti-Ageing Stem Cell Complex, which uses argan stem cells to speed the natural repair process and give an anti-wrinkle effect.
