First Russian property for Mandarin Oriental to open in Moscow

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has signed a management contract for its first Russian hotel and branded residences in Moscow, which are expected to open in 2021.
The property will feature 65 guestrooms and suites, two restaurants, a lounge bar, and spa and wellness facilities including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool.
Mandarin Oriental Moscow will be sitauted on the Sofiyskaya embankment in the city centre, opposite the Kremlin. The hotel will be marketed towards both business and leisure travellers, with access to many of the city’s tourist attractions, historic sites and business districts.
Also in development are 137 Residences at Mandarin Oriental, which will be the first branded luxury residential development in Moscow, says the group.
“We are delighted to be entering the Russian capital with this exciting new project located on an exceptional riverfront site in the centre of the city,” said James Riley, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental.
"We look forward to extending Mandarin Oriental’s service excellence to both our hotel guests and the future owners of this first luxury branded residential development in Moscow.”
The project is owned by Moscow development company Capital Group, with Pierre-Yves Rochon Studio and Sergey Skuratov Architects appointed as interior designer and architect, respectively.
