Gerard McCarthy launches sauna supply company Mr Sauna

Ex Dalesauna director Gerard McCarthy has launched his own company, Mr Sauna, supplying saunas and steam rooms to the spa and residential markets.

McCarthy, who was sales director at Dalesauna for 25 years, said he originally intended to take a break from the industry but decided to start the company following demand from customers and friends.

Mr Sauna will be based out of offices in Harrogate but will operate throughout the UK, using equipment that is also manufactured in the UK, which McCarthy said would reduce transport costs and emissions.

McCarthy added: “I decided to call the new company Mr Sauna, as many of the people I spoke to told me that I was ‘Mr Sauna’, having been in the industry for so long, which I am taking as a compliment. I also think it gives the company a personality and a friendly feel.”

He said the aim was to make the company stand out by offering a first-class personal service, using his industry experience to ensure client satisfaction.

Mr Sauna’s services will be directed at developers seeking equipment for a commercial spa or leisure club or a residential apartment complex, as well as at private clients wanting a sauna or steam room for the home.
