The Hard Rock Café hotel group has announced the planned opening of a Hard Rock Hotel in Malta in 2020.

The hotel, which will form part of a new mixed-use development on the island, is scheduled to feature 370 rooms, including 110 suites, as well as the 1,486sq Rock Spa. The spa is set to comprise several swimming pools and the Body Rock fitness centre, among other facilities.

The hotel will also have a selection of food and beverage outlets, a rooftop lounge with a sky bar, and 3,437sq m of meeting and events space – including the largest convention centre on the island.

Other developments within the mixed-use area where the hotel will be located will include a shopping centre, office space and high-end private residences.

Peter Vella, UK director of the Malta Tourism Authority, commented: “Hard Rock Hotels are renowned for very high standards and for reflecting the culture and character of their locality.

“The news that Hard Rock are opening a hotel in Malta is very exciting; it will bring travellers even more reasons to visit Malta."

Hard Rock Hotels’ global portfolio includes hotels in Bali, Goa, Las Vegas, Florida, Ibiza, San Diego and Macau, among others.
