Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of four new hotels in Turkey in the next two years, with two properties added in Istanbul and two in the port city of Izmir.
First to open will be the 115-room DoubleTree by Hilton Izmir, following a £607,000 (US$1m) refurbishment, featuring a spa, a fitness centre and a business centre.
The 126-room Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Beylikduzu will open in 2015 and incorporate amenities ranging from a gym and an indoor swimming pool to a restaurant providing all-day dining, and a business centre.
2016 will see the opening of the 170-room Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Dolapdere and the 182-room Hilton Garden Inn Izmir Bayrakli.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development, Europe and Africa at Hilton Worldwide, said of the expansion: "Turkey remains one of our core global growth markets, and these additions to our portfolio speak to our commitment to this region.”
The previously announced Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center, Hilton Istanbul Kozyatagi Conference Center & Spa and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Malatya are all set to open this year.
