Industry trends and concerns highlighted at Spatec Europe
The need for the industry to openly share knowledge and experience and the importance of caring for staff were raised as key issues at the seventh annual Spatec Europe.
The event, held at the Abama Golf & Spa Resort in Tenerife April 24-27, included an education element for the first time. The topic for the education session was different ways to lead the industry forward.
Speaking as part of the education element, Robert Teulings, director of Dutch wellness resort Thermae 2000, shared lessons learned from mistakes made at the resort – including the importance of training staff to sell – while encouraging the industry at large to be similarly open about their own miscalculations.
