Jumeirah to open first Mauritius property in 2018

The UAE-based Jumeirah group has announced plans for its first property in Mauritius. The hotel, which is currently under construction, is scheduled to open in 2018.
The property will be set on 68.5 hectares of land and feature a spa, fitness club, swimming pool, restaurants and poolside bars, a children’s and a teen club, as well as meeting and events space.
Gerald Lawless, president and chief executive of the Jumeirah group, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our portfolio of hotels and resorts to embrace the beautiful island of Mauritius.”
The Jumeirah group currently operates 22 hotels and serviced apartments in the Middle East, Europe and Africa, with a further 17 properties in development.
