Lava Shells partners with Wellness for Cancer
Lava Shells, the massage treatment that uses self-heating shells, has joined forces with Wellness for Cancer, the spa and wellness industry organisation set up to establish training and standards for treating cancer patients.
Through UK distributor Shared Beauty Secrets, the brand and organisation created Lava Wellness, a cancer-aware Lava Shells treatment. The special massage has been adapted from the original Lava Shells protocol to give moderate warmth balanced with a cooling sensation using glacial shells that contain a cooling sachet to stop the client getting too hot.
Both practical and online training will be provided to existing Lava Shells-trained therapists to show them how to deliver the treatment safely and effectively. The training will incorporate a solid background knowledge of how to work with clients affected by cancer and a focus on promoting inclusiveness in salon or spa.
Clare Anderson, founder of Shared Beauty Secrets, commented: “This collaboration marks an important step forward not just for Lava Shells but also for the industry. Incorporating gentle warmth into massage gives deeply rewarding benefits and we are absolutely delighted that we can now safely offer this to our clients with or post cancer. We thank Wellness for Cancer for giving us the confidence and skills to achieve this.”
