New hotel and spa to open by Copacabana beach in Rio

A new hotel, the Emiliano Rio de Janeiro, is opening by Brazil’s Copacabana beach in December, complete with a 1,100sq m spa.

The 90-room Emiliano Rio de Janeiro will comprise a combination of guestrooms and suites, including 90sq m spa suites.

The hotel décor draws inspiration from Brazilian modernist architecture with art, furniture and other interior elements referencing the 1950s Copacabana heyday.

Design is a key focus throughout the hotel, with a façade made up of a large expanse of small individual panels and furniture by a series of leading designers. Located on the 11th floor, the Santapele Spa is centered on three pillars: relaxing, detoxifying and invigorating.

Spa features will include experience showers, saunas and a Technogym-equipped fitness centre with sea views, among other elements. The Emiliano Rio de Janeiro spa suites will also be located on the 11th floor, offering further extension and personalisation of the spa services.

Other hotel amenities will include a restaurant serving contemporary Brazilian cuisine, a rooftop featuring a swimming pool and a poolside restaurant serving light and healthy cuisine.
