As we continue to offer free education to the beauty salon and spa industries during lockdown, this week’s stellar Webinar line-up includes talks on the steps you need to take to become a sustainable beauty salon and how to win the industry’s biggest nail competitions.
Plus, we have a special business session with PB columnist Hellen Ward who will be giving advice on how to make your beauty salon or spa financially strong when you open post-coronavirus.
What to expect from this week’s PB webinar line-up (April 20–24):
Monday 20 April – 2pm – Sustainability panel with Sara Young, Diane Nettleton and Lucy Brialey – “How to become an eco-friendly beauty salon or spa post Covid-19”
Three industry experts – Sara Young, spa operations manager at The Spa at South Lodge; Diane Nettleton, director of Gaia Spa and and founder of Gaia Skincare; and Lucy Brialey, director of The Sustainable Spa Association – reveal the steps to take post Covid-19 to make your beauty salon or spa more sustainable, from simple eco-swaps, reducing plastic waste and how to work with suppliers more.
This panel is taking place as part of Professional Beauty’s Sustainability Week (April 20–26) – helping the industry to boost its green credentials.
Tuesday 21 April – 3pm – Live Q&A with PB columnist Hellen Ward – “Pause and reset: how to make your salon business stronger post-coronavirus"
Every beauty salon owner has had to get to grips with huge amounts of employment legislation during the coronavirus crisis, but on the flipside, there’s never been an opportunity like this to redefine the rules and regulations you need in place to restart the business when the time comes. Hellen Ward will talk through what she's done to update her business's terms and conditions of employment, staff handbook, and policies and procedures, and spring-cleaning operations to come back slicker and more productive.
Wednesday 22 April – 12pm – Live Q&A with nail educator Michelle Brookes – “How to win industry awards and competitions”
The award-winning nail tech and owner of the Michelle Brookes Training Academy will reveal how you can win some of the biggest awards and competitions in the nail industry, covering the reputational benefits, advice on what the judges will be looking for and the common mistakes tech make during competitions.
Thursday 23 April – 12pm – Live Q&A with The Spa at Carden’s Steve Ewing – “How to survive if you opened a new salon or spa before Covid-19”
Steve Ewing, spa director at The Spa at Carden in Cheshire, will be talking about how to make sure your spa business survives the coronavirus pandemic and thrives afterwards, especially if your beauty business is relatively new – The Spa at Carden only opened in January 2020.
Friday 24 April – 5pm – Instagram Live with celebrity spray tanner James Read – “How to make it big as a spray tanner and common troubleshooting tips”
Celebrity spray tanner James Read will reveal how he made it big in the tanning world and will explain how you can become a name in the industry too. He will also be talking about the most common spray tanning troubleshooting issues beauty therapists face and how you can overcome them.
