#PBLive: #beYOUbePRO campaign launch

#beYOUbePRO is the theme for the upcoming Professional Beauty North and Ireland shows.
The campaign aims to champion professionalism in the industry and also to inspire more young people to follow a career in beauty, spa, nails or hair.
It's kicking off with a social media competition in which four lucky winners per show will each receive a £500 cash prize, along with the option to select additional prizes - with choices including business consultancy, in-salon training, a product hamper and magazine coverage.
To enter, all you have to do is film a short video of yourself on your phone (maximum 60 seconds) explaining why you love being a professional in the industry - so, telling us what gets you excited about your job and why it's a rewarding career - then upload it to Instagram or Facebook including the hashtags #beYOUbePRO and #PBNorth.
If you're not a fan of video, don't worry - if you prefer, you can enter by posting some written text (up to 150 words) and a photo on the same topic on Instagram or Facebook, using the same hashtags.
Winners will be announced at Professional Beauty North, which takes place in Manchester on October 13–14.
This week's #PBLive also covers some of the big stories that have hit the headlines this week. The formation of a new group that has pledged to fight for the rights of beauty therapists has attracted a lot of interest on our website this week. The Beauty Industry Organisations Group sees key beauty oranisations coming together for the first time: The National Beauty Federation (NBF), Babtac, The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW,) the Cosmetics, Toiletries and Perfumery Association (CTPA), Habia and the UK Spa Association (UKSA).
We also talk through some of the exciting new launches, including a salon being marketed at the "most Instagramable in Liverpool", called The Ideal Clinic; a spa set to revive the ancient mineral bathing rituals of Harrogate - The Harrogate Spa; as well as Clare Cockell's latest venture, The Treatment Rooms at Barham Court, in Maidstone, Kent, which has a focus on helping clients achieve balance and mental wellbeing.
